THE BRIEF

Set within Macalister Mansion, a restored early-1900s colonial mansion in George Town, the cellar bar was designed as an intimate, below-ground retreat for [hotel guests / private events / public walk-ins]. Our brief was to create a space that feels [moody, warm and discreet] while respecting the building's heritage fabric.We drew on the character of a traditional wine cellar: low ambient lighting, rich textures and a sense of enclosure.
